On a hot and humid day, in the middle of their busy class schedules, club leaders set up booths as eager students shuffled through the packed rows at the B-Involved Fair this past Wednesday. Going into the second year where clubs have access to Trailblazer funding, many have made significant progress and are ripe for new members and expansion. So, we asked Purdue in Indianapolis student organizations to tell us what their clubs are about, and complied their responses here to help you find the student orgs that speak to your interests. Use the alphabetical order list below to jump to clubs you're interested in and learn more. Note, the list is not exhaustive and primarily includes clubs which responded to our request. If you would like us to add your club, please contact us.

Amplify Purdue

We help students network into their dream careers, start their own company/side hustle and/or learn about venture capital.
If you are interested in networking, startups, entrepreneurship, and/or venture capital you should join Amplify Purdue.
Officer positions are open and we will build the club around our founding members' dreams/desires. Follow us and join the discord for updates!

ASME

We empower future mechanical engineers by combining professional networking with technical experience. Our members practice their engineering skills through projects like the Electric Vehicle Kart (EVK), Small Projects, and now brand new an Aerospace chapter. These projects are open to ALL engineering students and are focused on design and prototyping. Connect with industry professionals, gain real-world engineering experience, and join a community of builders and innovators.

Badminton Club

BioForge

Our mission is to provide a way for students to collaborate on hands-on biomedical engineering projects that bridge classroom knowledge with real-world applications. We strive to provide members with practical experience in design, prototyping, and interdisciplinary collaboration. We also seek to build an inclusive community where students of all backgrounds and majors can work together to develop technologies that make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
We are currently working on designing a sensory bionic hand, which includes three smaller sub-projects. A bionic hand, artificial skin, and a human machine interface. However, if these projects don't interest you, and you want to build or research biomedical devices, you can start your own BME project through the club and we will find you an advisor and potentially funding to help you build your project.
If you are interested in gaining hands-on technical experience in designing, prototyping, researching, and building biomedical devices you should join BioForge.

Boiler Grand Prix

F1 watch parties, engineering events and socials.
If you are interested in watching F1 with friends or learning about the sports you should join the club.
Upcoming events are watch parties for the Malaysia (Bahrain GP) on October 4th and the USGP on October 25.

BoilerSub

Underwater Robotics; our goal is to design and build an autonomous underwater vehicle for a competition. We have made significant progress last year and aim to compete this summer.
If you are interested in engineering design, manufacturing, electronic assembly, and/or programming then you should join this club.

Chess Club

We play chess!

Computer Science Club

Computer Science Club focuses on cultivating a strong and passionate community of students across all majors who are interested in computer science. Our main genre of events are general social events with other students with the same passions, technical workshops exploring every niche of computer science, connecting students with networking events to hopefully spark a further opportunity, and holding a large hackathon every year for the students of Purdue Indianapolis.
If you are interested in computer science and how it is applicable in a variety of fields, as well as finding a community of students who appreciate the same (regardless of major) ... you should join Computer Science Club!
This semester we are doing a series of events on how to use AI and networking to land your dream job!

CSWN

CSWN Indianapolis focuses on nurturing the community of women in computer science in Purdue Indianapolis to support and grow with each other. We hold events that help socialize with other women in stem, panels to hear from other women in cs about their experiences, and outreach to high school and middle school students to help them gauge their future interests!
If you are interested in computer science and finding a community of women who hold the same passions ... you should join the club!
This semester we are doing an accessible series called Day In The Life, where bi-weekly you have the opportunity to meet a successful woman in stem and hear about their career path to further and gain inspiration to your own! Open for only CSWN Indianapolis members!

ECESS

We are an academic and professional community that supports ECE students in navigating a rigorous curriculum, exploring post-baccalaureate paths, and making the most of their Purdue experience.
All students are welcome to attend our events! Official membership is open to students majoring in ECE. By joining ECESS, students gain access to professional and personal growth opportunities. Members connect with ECE alumni through networking events, panels, and industry talks.

Hispanos Unidos

Cultural club connecting students with Latino culture through social events to create a community!
If you are interested in wanting to know more about Latino culture and want to find a community who has these same interests then you should join the club!
We are very excited and hoping people come to our Latino Dance Night which is happening October 15th! Something new and we want everyone to come and enjoy!

Indy Builds

Indy Builds is a community that hosts workshops and weekly Build Nights for you to learn technical skills and build the projects of your dreams.

We are the official Lutheran student fellowship for campus. Anyone can join. Throughout the year we will do field trips, studies and hang outs together.

Music Club

Laid back fun space for students to continue their passions in and around music. Lots of bands, from Metal to Indian Classical, and we’re always adding more.
If you like playing ANY kind of music, we have something for you! And if we don’t, we’ll help you make one!

NSBE

NSBE Mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. In our chapter, students get access to mentorship, professional connections, and social events. We also travel to regional and national conventions, giving members direct access to hundreds of recruiters from major companies and opening doors to internships, full-time roles, and meaningful career opportunities.
If you're interested in finding a community where engineers can connect, and feel supported you should join the club.

Compete in VEX U robotics competitions at a world class level.
If you are interested in being on a world class robotics team in the fields of CAD, Manufacturing, Programming, Business or Outreach, then we are the team for you!

Pop Culture Collective

We host Movie Nights with trivia!
If you would like to watch movies on campus about twice a month, learn about its pop culture significance and participate in trivia with friends, join our club!
We are showing Project Hail Mary for our first movie night of the semester in SL165 @ 6pm on Friday, September 4th!

PPA

The missions of our club is to help teach students professional development skills and to prepare them for their careers. The three guiding principles of the club is mentorship, volunteering, and social development.

Men's Volleyball Club

We are a competitive, college club level volleyball team that plays against other universities in state and out of state. We also host a home tournament where we invite schools from all over the Midwest area to come play! We have regular practices, team bonding outings, and travel tournaments.
Anyone who's interested in competitive volleyball should join! We are also working on bringing the women's team back to give more players an opportunity to compete!
Our first tournament is September 19/20th, at Purdue West Lafayette!

Purdue FIRST Programs

Volunteering, mentoring, and inspiring the youth of FIRST robotics.
Join if you are interested in robotics and giving back to your local community you don't need any previous knowledge of robotics or FIRST we'll teach you everything you need.
We are planning an RI30h (Robot in 30 hours) for the upcoming FTC game that will be released Sept 18th to share with the FIRST community sparking ideas and showing our thought process to the youth.

PiMed

PiMed connects Purdue University students in Indianapolis and West Lafayette who are interested in medicine with the resources, experiences, and community they need to explore careers in healthcare. We host medical and industry professional panels, provide shadowing and volunteering opportunities, offer hands-on experiences and exposure to different areas of medicine, and organize community-building events.
If you are interested in applying your degree to medicine, healthcare, or exploring a career in the medical field, you should join PiMed! All majors are welcome, and whether you are pre-med, considering a healthcare career, or simply curious about medicine, PiMed is a place to learn, connect with professionals and other students, and gain experiences beyond the classroom.
We’re excited to host another year of blood drives, IU School of Medicine anatomy cadaver lab tours, physician panels, healthcare industry career events, volunteering and shadowing opportunities, and hands-on experiences for students across Purdue Indianapolis. Additionally, we are most looking forward to starting our Pie Parties back up for this semester and host fun community buildings every month.

Roboracer

We are a team that competes in the Roboracer competition, a collegiate autonomous robotics racing tournament throughout the world!
Join if you are interested in machine learning, mechatronics, racing, or simply being a part of a team that’s building a new frontier at Purdue, on all campuses. This past summer we competed for the first time in Detroit and landed P10, and this following year we will be doing the same! Our trips are fully funded by Purdue, so exploring new cities is another perk!

Sim Racing Club

The Sim Racing Club at Purdue (SRC) is a student-led organization in Indianapolis competing in major iRacing events. Members gain practical experience in race strategy, data analysis, car setup, and teamwork to prepare for careers in motorsports. Club roles include driving, being an engineer (interpreting driver telemetry and making setup changes based on logic), working on design projects, and helping club outreach via sponsorships, content creation, and graphic design.
If you are interested in accelerating your path into the motorsports industry, you should join the Sim Racing Club at Purdue. Whether you would love to represent Purdue University in prestigious iRacing events, improve your skills in data acquisition, or want to broaden your portfolio through content creation, all are welcome to improve themselves within SRC!
Driver tryouts will take place next week. Our first road racing special event will be the virtual Petit Le Mans, a 10 hour endurance race at Road Atlanta, on September 25-27. We will also be competing in the eNASCAR College iRacing Series this year, competition begins September 15. All will be broadcasted on our club YouTube page.

SHPE

Our mission is to empower Hispanics in STEM, while warmly welcoming students of all backgrounds. We bridge the gap between academia and industry through professional development initiatives, including corporate tours and networking events. Simultaneously, we cultivate a tight-knit community through social events that bring our members together.
Join if you are interested in launching your STEM career, building a powerful professional network, and finding a lifelong community of friends who support your goals!

STEAM Arts and Crafts Club

Our club encourages students to enjoy and explore their hobbies in arts and crafts (ex. 3d modeling, painting, electronics, cosplaying, writing, etc.). Our club primarily encourages Purdue students to take a step back and explore multiple mediums of crafting. Being a relaxed, entertaining, and creative space.
Join if you're interested in arts and crafts or want to explore new hobbies.

SDO brings students together through creative events, design activities, industry opportunities, and social experiences focused on interior architecture, interior design, architecture, and related fields.
Interior architecture students, or any one interested in the architecture/ design industry should join.

Taekwondo Club

We do Taekwondo!
If you are interested in sports or martial arts in any capacity, this is a good club to join. The club is for new people, casual, or competitive people. Any experience level is okay.

We play table tennis.

USB is here for student advocacy and guidance in computer science to succeed academically and professionally, especially with our biggest priority being our town halls with the Department Head of Computer Science and student forums, to take student feedback and create change.
